PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. In this process, metal atoms are turned into vapor inside a vacuum chamber and then coated onto the ripple sheet. This creates a thin strong layer of color that bonds well with the surface. The result is a ripple sheet with a durable & stylish finish. That’s why it’s called a PVD ripple sheet.

In order to keep the sheet in good shape, you need to clean it with a soft cloth and soapy water. While avoiding the rough scrubbing and strong cleaners is recommended by our experts, as they can dull the finish. 

It’s also a good thing to dry the surface right after cleaning to stop water marks. If needed, you can polish it gently using a stainless cleaner. Furthermore, a mix of vinegar and olive oil can also be used to bring back the shine.

The first limitation is that these sheets are really expensive than regular ones. And the reason is that the coating process takes more time and care. In addition, due to a thin PVD layer, the sheets can be scratched easily if you handle them roughly.

On the other hand, these are not perfect for projects where a thick protective layer is needed. However, the coating works best on flat areas. But overall, it’s still a strong and stylish option for most projects.
